So I have absolutely no motivation to draw.

So I'm taking requests and art trades.

I'll take up to 5 requests (maybe more). And I'll do every art trade that is asked.
Well maybe, if I get to many art trades, then I'll stop taking them a little after.
I doubt that'll happen.

Btw, I DON'T do first come first serve, I do it by what I feel like doing.
I'll do characters that look interesting to me and fun to draw.
and for art trades, I don't go down list. Lol sorry.

Have a nice day!

Profile | Gallery | Inbox

I'm not going to lie, I've seen many maybe even thousands of other posts that tell people "how to get noticed" or "how to be a better artist" ect. And every last one I saw, had very good pointers.
:star: before we start

Now if you look at my profile, I got over 1,300 page views and 44 watchers in 11 months(which I hadn't got on for about 3-5 months), while my friend Free-Points-And-Pm hasn't been a member for a month yet, and has 1,100 page views and 64 watchers, but that's because she helps people.
I post my art, not often I should add, and if you watch closely, people are suckers for free stuff (like me).

Now anyway, to be a "better" artist doesn't just need practicing (although it's a HUGE part of it), but you being yourself, doing what you want, being nice, and SOO much more! You don't need to be an artist to get noticed!

Let's start!
:star: adding to groups.
Like others may have said, groups are a great way to get noticed! Joining a million groups is a great idea! More groups=better chance of getting noticed.

:bulletwhite: joining groups with less watchers is a better idea then joining one with a thousand more! Smaller groups get less deviations so it gives a longer time for yours to be shown then one with a thousand more watchers!

:star: interacting with others- watch, fav, llama, and/or comment!
:bulletwhite: favoriting.
I've seen this tip very few times when it's a very GOOD tip!
Me and Free-Points-And-Pm started to go and look at the newest deviantions and favorite them, before we new it, people were coming to our profiles to thank us! Some even stopped by and looked at our stuff, at least 1/10 of the. Would watch us!
We got about 50 page views about every 3 minutes, and 25 comments in same amount of time! And some just llama'd us!
:bulletblack: commenting.
If you comment, your surely to get one back! Not to mention, if it's really nice, they may stop by your page and look at your stuff!
When I did this with new people I got about 6/10 of them watching me, and 9/10 of them commenting back, some even llama'ing me!
:bulletred: llama'ing
Llama'ing someone random is a perfect way to get more llamas if you collect them!
A lot of people llama you back, or even thank you!
When I llama'd people, about 6-7/10 of them llama'd me back! And I got a couple comments from some of them as well!
:bulletgreen: watching new comers
What's better then getting watchers when you first started? I know when I first started out I was extremely HAPPY, I followed like the first 15-20 people who had watched me x). I still remember the persons name that was my first follower (she is a deactivated account tho...).
Not just new comers but some old comers of deviantart may not always follow back, but they generally came and thank you!
:bulletyellow: paying more attention to new people
If you noticed the people you follow that are older and have mire followers, will probably just dismis you as other watchers, while the newer people like, 6 months and under, tend to actually KNOW your there.

:bulletyellow: extra.
New comers are a better way to get watchers, favorites, llamas, and/or comments!

:star: you want POSTIVE attention, not negative.
Now, you can get attention in two ways, being a troll/hater or being a nice. While being nice will most likely get you the good stuff (watchers, comments, etc.), being mean WILL get you comments..... BUT their more likely going to get you comments that aren't nice at all. Being a butt head will most likely NOT get you watchers or llamas or favorites or anything really. So remember you want the good stuff, be POSTIVE!

:star: helping others!
Helping others by asking their questions, or making a tutorial or anything really, will help not just them, but you as well!

:star: be modest about your art!
I'm NOT going to lie, people who say "ohh him such the best artist ever!" Or anything, annoy me. (Let's be honest tho, has anyone heard someone say that before? XD). So just say THANK YOU, maybe sneak some compliments in there to their work too!

:star: no saying "I suck"! XD
I say that SOOO much! But I realized, your hurting other artist while saying that... I said it even when I was proud of that peice of art, because I thought I was being "modest", when in reality, I wasn't. Being modest is saying "thank you" not dissing your own art! If you want to be a better artist, use positive self talk, that goes a LONG way! So remember when someone compliments your art like saying "beautiful job!" DON'T reply with "thanks but it sucks..." Reply with something POSTIVE!
Here are some examples of what you could say!
"Thank you! It means a lot coming from someone like you!"
"Thanks so much, yours is awesome too!"
Or just a plain "thank you"

:star: grammar goes a LONG way!
Okay let's say, two people comment on my profile. One users grammar and the other text language.:
Example 1: "thnx for the fav, plz check out my gal." (I've seen that PLENTY OF times, yes, even the "gal" part XD)
Example 2: "hello! Thank you so much for the favorite on my newest painting! It means a lot! If you have some time, could you possibly check my gallery out?"
Who do you think I would check out? That's right, example 2!
Pushing full words and proper punction is a big deal! It makes you seem more professional and would more likely have people looking through your gallery then someone who doesn't use grammar.

:star: clean gallery
A clean gallery is awesome! If you separate the art into folders, it helps a lot! Because if a fellow deviant wants to see like fanart, they don't have to search through your WHOLE GALLERY! Separating your gallery makes you look professional, this making people like you!

:star: posting Dailey if possible.
Posting your art or a journal often is good, it gives more Followers then someone who uploads like once a month (like me XD)

Being yourself will get your watchers and friends who actually LIKE you! Being someone your not so you can be "cool" ISNT cool! I realized, being my self got me the friends that I want to be friends with! So stop pretending to be someone else, and be yourself. YOU need to be TRUE to YOURSELF.

:star: think of others
This is a great way to meet to people, and to get followers.

P.s. If your to lazy and wanna be a butt (not literally), pay for a freaking ad XD.

I just want to take a moment to thank you for being one of my watchers. :w00t:

Your support, thusfar, means a great deal to me.

Since you found something in my gallery to your liking, I'm hoping you'd consider checking out my comic on FaceBook. I've been working hard on this project for a while now, and - come the first of the year - we'll be launching a fundraising campaign so the comic can be produced. Even if you can't donate, yourself, sharing the project with friends and family - even liking the page to show support - would mean the world to me.

Again, thank you for watching, and thank you for all the support you've shown.

Back to work. :work:
